Tip Of The Day “Palm Planting”…
Aug 2nd, 2007 by Raymond
Well here is another tip that can save you tons of time and money down the road… It is an easy step when it comes to planting a palm… Now this might seem like common sense but I see it done all of the time… The first thing that you need to know when planting a new palm is how big around and how tall this palm is going to get… Sounds easy right well I see palms planted in the wrong places all the time… There are 2 major things that can happen… A you plant a palm like the Mexican fan palm under another tree or patio thinking it looks great here… But that Palm can grow over 100 ft… Now you have to remove it fix your patio or cut down an exiting tree… And B you plant a palm like the Canary island palm right next to a wall… Once again it might look great there and you might have it a couple feet from the wall but it will grow to several feet in diameter so now you ether have to remove the palm or knock down the wall…
These are two very easy and helpful tips when it comes to planting a new palm… Happy planting…

I plant palm trees for a living with my landscape company. We plant palm trees too close to walls and under patios so we get more business. They will tell us the tree destroyed the patio or brick wall but then we tell them the tree was not suppose to do that and that the customer must have been watering it too much or the Palm tree grew that big because it was a fluke!
