This elegant northwestern native bears large fragrant white flowers, with a lavender to maroon blotch at the center of each. Blooms heavily in early summer.. A superb old-fashioned shrub for mixed shrub borders or as a backdrop to colorful perennials. Well suited to wild and native landscapes in the west. Tolerant of poor fertility provided soils are well drained and porous. Deciduous shrub. Full sun. Fast growing to 6 to 8 feet high and wide.
