Description -
One of the group of magnolias known as ‘The Little Girl Hybrids’, valued for their ability to flower later than the star magnolia and thus avoid frost damage. A narrow, upright shrub or small tree that roots easily from softwood cuttings. Exquisite, 3 to 4 inch blooms are reddish purple outside and white inside and make their entrance in early spring before the foliage buds out. Has a charming, open branched habit on a narrow form. Makes a spectacular specimen or accent. Full sun. Deciduous. Slow growing 10 to 15 feet tall and 12 feet wide. Cutting grown.
